Algeria Attacks France and Morocco After Rachida Dati’s Visit to Moroccan Sahara

Yet, this visit triggered a violent response from the Algerian regime, which was unable to contain its anger and hatred. Upon the announcement of this highly symbolic visit, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs quickly condemned it, labeling the initiative as “unacceptable.” This feigned indignation is merely a smokescreen to hide a purely doctrinal reaction, devoid of any constructive approach. This intransigence fits into a larger political context. In late July, a decisive shift took place in French politics with Emmanuel Macron’s explicit support for Morocco’s proposed autonomy plan, firmly reaffirming Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.

While Rachida Dati inaugurated a branch of the French Alliance in Laâyoune – a strong symbol of culture and dialogue between civilizations – Algeria sank into futile verbal attacks. This retreat only underscores the regime’s inability to accept the transformations of the contemporary world. Rather than working towards peace and regional stability, it continues to indulge in hostile rhetoric and gratuitous insults, highlighting its failure to evolve.

It is crucial to denounce this stubbornness and remind that true strength lies in the ability to adapt and build a shared future. By maintaining a rigid stance and claiming to be the defender of an international order it refuses to embrace, Algeria exposes its inability to confront the challenges of the 21st century.
