Regragui excludes Ziyech from the matches against Niger and Tanzania

The Moroccan national team coach, Walid Regragui, has decided to exclude forward Hakim Ziyech from the final squad that will play against Niger and Tanzania in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

This decision aims to give Ziyech the opportunity to better prepare with his club, Al-Duhail SC, especially after a long period of absence from competition, which has affected his physical condition.

Regragui met with Ziyech before the match between Al-Duhail and Al-Sadd to discuss his future with the national team. He emphasized the player’s importance within the group while stating that his return to the squad will depend on regaining his usual level of performance.

It is worth noting that Ziyech has not played with the Moroccan national team since last June due to recurring injuries and the coach’s choices, which have kept him away from international competitions.

Moroccan fans hope to see Ziyech regain his form and rejoin the national team to contribute to the Atlas Lions’ success in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
