Algerian Gas Carrier Tassala Rescues Migrants in the Mediterranean

Statement from the Sonatrach Group:
Today, as the gas carrier “Tassala” approached the coast of Sardinia in Italian waters, the ship received an urgent call from the Italian coast guard at around 14:00 to carry out a rescue operation for a boat stranded at sea.
“Tassala” responded positively and rescued all 30 passengers, all of whom were illegal migrants, mostly Tunisians and Libyans.
The migrants were immediately cared for by the crew of the “Tassala” ship, who provided them with food and medical care.
The Italian coast guard then took over all the passengers at around 15:30, expressing their gratitude to the crew of the Sonatrach-owned “Tassala” ship for their effective participation.
After this humanitarian rescue operation, “Tassala” resumed its mission of unloading the cargo as planned.
