Algerian Television Slams the Emirates: A Harsh Response to Open Contempt

The Algerian state television has launched a direct and fierce attack against the United Arab Emirates. In a commentary aired during the 8 p.m. news, ENTV accused Abu Dhabi of targeting “the unity and identity of the Algerian people,” following statements made by Mohamed Lamine Belghit on the Sky News Arabia channel, where he denied the existence of Amazigh culture, describing Amazigh identity as a “Franco-Zionist ideological project.”

ENTV described it as a “dangerous media escalation” from an “artificial mini-state” which, according to the broadcaster, has crossed “all red lines.” The public channel denounced it as a direct attack on the “historical constants” of the Algerian people and accused the Emirates of trying to “sow doubt about their origins and rich history.” The tone was harsh, and the words carefully chosen to humiliate.

Algeria, described as a “glorious nation,” is said to be targeted by “hybrid entities, devoid of origin and sovereignty,” driven, according to ENTV, by a desire to extinguish any stability in the region. Though not mentioned by name, the attack clearly targets Mohamed Belghit, portrayed as an “ideology merchant” serving a hostile political agenda under the guise of historical analysis.

According to ENTV, this provocation will not go unanswered. By recalling the blood shed to preserve national unity, the state television warned: Algeria will never tolerate any attack on its identity. Behind this fiery rhetoric lies a barely veiled diplomatic warning. Algeria promises to “respond blow for blow,” a clear signal that the issue has grown beyond Belghit’s words into a broader political dispute with Abu Dhabi.
