Tunisian Politician Safi Saïd Released

The Court of First Instance in Kasserine decided today, Thursday, to release politician Safi Saïd and his companion, who were previously detained in a case of “illegally crossing the Tunisian border” into Algeria.

The case file of Safi Saïd and his companion has been referred to the Magistrate’s Court in the city of Fériana in Kasserine.

Safi Saïd was arrested in a border town in Algeria the day before yesterday, Tuesday, and was handed over along with his companion to the Tunisian authorities.

Safi Saïd withdrew from the presidential race due to the rejection of his candidacy file.
